Kalam Table Thiksey-Ashtamangla
The UNESCO Seal Of Excellence awarded Kalam Table is a brilliant example of functional art. Kalam or pen is the tool of the Rajasthani Miniature Artist who painted this multifunctional reinterpretation of the wooden lacquer trays used in traditional Indian kitchens.
‘Thiksey Range’ is inspired by the auspicious symbols and messages from the Tibetan Buddhist philosophy. Ashtamangala or eight symbols of fortune represent offerings made by the gods to Buddha. Tibetan prayer flags or Lungta represent good luck pervading the overall well-being of an individual.
This hand-turned food-safe mango wood tray with detachable iron legs can be used separately to present guests with dry delicacies or as wall art. The table collapses for easy transport across the globe.
